  • Invitation

It is our pleasure to invite you to attend the ISN’s Nexus Symposium 2016 taking place in Berlin, Germany on April 14-17, 2016. The focus this year will be on Translational Immunology in Kidney Disease: New therapies for renal immunopathology

  • Translational Immunology in Kidney Disease

Drug development has dramatically improved disease outcomes in most medical disciplines, not so in nephrology. Despite enormous research efforts done by the basic science kidney research community, only few drug targets have been successfully validated and developed into innovative drugs for patients with kidney disease.
  • ISN Nexus Symposia

The Nexus Symposia are designed to bridge the gap between basic research and clinical practice. These meetings bring researchers and practitioners together to advance science and treatment around highly targeted and specific themes.
  • Berlin, Germany

Located in northeastern Germany, Berlin is one of the largest European capitals and a major center of politics, media, science and culture. It was established in 1307 due to the union of two settlements: Berlin, situated on the northern banks of the Spree, and Cölln, located on the present-day site of Museum Island.

Drug development has dramatically improved the outcome of diseases in most medical disciplines. However, this does not seem to be the case in nephrology. This will be cause for discussion at this ISN Nexus meeting. Watch the video with Co-chairs David Jayne and Hans-Joachim Anders here.

ISN Nexus Symposia

Introduced in 2006, the ISN Nexus Symposia format was designed to bridge the gap between basic research and clinical practice by offering a profound focus on translational medicine and clinical application. The ISN Nexus symposia aim to address the increasingly multidisciplinary approach to kidney health issues by bringing together researchers and practicing clinicians to advance science and treatment around highly targeted and specific themes of current relevance. These meetings enable collaborations to take place with an in-depth focus on real clinical challenges and directions for future research and healthcare solutions.
